The Great Physician Meets A Tax Collector (Luke 5:27-39)

As we reflect upon Luke 5, take a moment to look at the panorama of the chapter.  Jesus has called blue-collar fishermen to be His disciples, healed a rejected leper, pardoned a pitiful paralytic, and now he comes into the house of a tax collector wealthy enough to throw a party at his house.  This broad snapshot helps us see something very basic about Jesus—He has come to save all.  People of every stripe and of every background are within the saving power of Jesus.
